Why I Will Vote for Romney

Here are comments in another commenter’s "I love Obama" template with the second sentence my reply in italics in each case.

1)       I’m pro-choice, he’s pro-choice.  I am pro life and so is Romney.

2)      ) I favor full equality for gays, Obama has finally come around on that. I am for human equality, but not in-your-face public demonstrations of the practices of homosexuality, which I abhor. Stay in the bedroom! Romney leans this way.

3)      I support universal health coverage. Obama has come close. I am for several levels of voluntary health insurance.

4)      I believe that the 1% (a group I’m in, somewhat to my surprise) and even the 10% have an obligation to pay some bills. Obama wants to let our rich folk tax cuts expire. I think it’s past time. I am for an equitable tax program, and it isn’t going to come from Obama. Massive redistribution of wealth is not on!

5)       I think we need to rethink our defense expenditures and make some serious cuts, Obama does too. I am for a strong defense, but there are cuts that should be made. Romney is for a strong defense and for reducing duplication, mismanagement, waste and fraud.

6)       I oppose war with Iran and I think Obama is reluctant to go down that road. I oppose war in general, but as above, I believe we may have to join that fight, and need a strong military to do so real soon now! So does Romney think this way.

7)       I am grateful to Obama for arranging the death of Osama Bin Laden. That is what any president should do. So would Romney, I believe.

8)       I support Obama’s drone war and other measures against Al Qaeda. I support active engagement with jihadist groups, GWOT. I believe Romney will continue the fight.

9)       I am gratified that Obama ended US torture. No torture has been policy for years. It was reiterated by Bush.

10)   I am grateful for the fact that we avoided a major depression bequeathed to us by the previous administration. I do not support crony capitalism, spraying money around without a valid business plan, no budget and other wasteful expenditures. I hope that fiscal sanity is true for Romney.

11)    I believe that global warming is real and that we should treat it as such. The effect is rather minimal according to several groups but, I do support continuous scientific investigations by truly qualified and honest men in the fields involved. This I believe Romney will support.

12)    I approve of Mr. Obama’s appointments to the SCOTUS.  I would support a more conservative SCOTUS by at least one. I am confident that Romney will try to put conservatives on the court.

Here are a few negatives for Obama that totally convince me, beyond the differences above, that he is far less desirable than Romney

1.       $700 billion out of Medicare that Romney will restore.

2.      Obamacare. Romney will repeal it and fix it.

3.      He will raise taxes given the chance. Romney is exceedingly reluctant to raise taxes.

4.      Obama broke his promise to halve the deficit.

5.       Obama lost our AAA rating. I expect Romney to work to get it back.

6.      No budget for three years and counting. Romney will force a budget to be published.

7.       GM fiasco on the taxpayer’s back and given largely to the unions. Cost so far is 25 billion. If this giveaway can be reversed, Romney will do it.

8.      Mostly tax cheat Czars (and one communist he appointed that was finally forced to resign--Van Jones) running the nation while he flits around paying golf (104 rounds), promoting himself, orating, posing, strutting and preening. I expect integrity in the Romney cabinet and appointees.

9.      He grounded NASAs manned space program, and directed the NASA head to conduct an outreach to Muslims as his mission! Not sure of Romney’s position, but I believe he will redirect this.

10.   He has governed as a highly partisan hack that let the Congress write the bills, race them through without reading them, then selling them with lies.

11.    Our borders are still far too open. The fence was supposed to be completed in 2009. He ordered his own amnesty program, and clearly intends to do more.

12.   Transparency in his administration was touted to the heavens, but there has been none.

13.   His use of the TARP money under his control was abysmal.

14.   We have had 8%+ unemployment for all four years, but really closer to 14% because of the people that stopped looking and gave up.

15.    The stimulus had virtually no effect on unemployment overall. It was supposed to bring it down to 5.6% by now.

16.   Where is the full accounting for stimulus financials? I expect Romney to run a full accounting of his financials while in office.

17.    As president he forced out the GM CEO, and has been regulating the salaries of Wall Street and elsewhere, a highly distasteful incursion into the private sector. This kind of effort will be stopped by Romney.

18.   His administration has readied 4,400 new regulations to go into effect when he is reelected. An estimated hit of $89 billion. Stopping this flood of new regulations is expected in a Romney administration.

19.   The bottom line is I do not feel better off today than four years ago.  I feel totally unsettled and uncertain about both now and the future if Obama wins another term. I even fear for the loss of the country I love to a bastardization of the Constitution and a socialization process that I deeply resent. by people I do not respect.

20.  He is maneuvering with H. Clinton to get gun control via a treaty with the UN, which is not going to happen on Romney’s watch.

21.   The added debt by Obama exceeds $4 billion over all other commitments by Bush. So we are now at $16 Trillion in the red. Romney I expect to work to reduce it.

Obama's Campaign

The Simple Strategy of Obama' Campaign

Obama is playing to the non-whites and just enough of the loony white left to get himself reelected, quite obviously. Redistribution of (share the) wealth, the implied promise of free or low cost medical care, equal opportunities and equal outcomes, further penetration of government ownership of industry, covertly open borders, amnesty of sorts, and manna from heaventhe government purchases him support and votes from these groups, particularly since it is these shortsighted groups that have little sense of the ultimate and devastating ideological issues involved, bastardizing the Constitution, anti-Christian attacks, nor the future of the nation, and they really don't seem to care. Nor do these groups keep careful track of the issues or the debates, the lack of jobs for about 14 million people, the $16 trillion debit with its promise of inflation, and the lies and fabrications of the left versus the right, and how the truth is eventually brought out. It is certain that the MSM won't help them sort it out properly.

Freebies are good, never mind how they are generated, and Obama currently takes claim to be the king of the freebies. That he doesn't expect much support from the main, largely Christian and conservative or moderate white groups is likewise obvious. In that he is quite right.

The Obama Record of Facts

I am reprinting this article by John Hawkins that I copied from the blog Townhall, July 10, 2012, because I believe it summarizes Obama's failures quite well.

"15 Facts That Even Obama's Biggest Supporters Should Be Able To Admit Are True

By John Hawkins

5/18/2012

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts." -- Daniel Patrick Moynihan

Conservatives and liberals may disagree on reasons, motivations, and excuses for Barack Obama's performance, but the facts are still facts. There may be many reasons that a pro football coach goes 1-15, but everyone can agree that his record is still 1-15, right? Well, here are some basic facts about how the country is faring with Barack Obama in the White House. Take a look at the numbers, sans commentary, and make your own judgment about whether Barack Obama deserves another term in office.

1) Real median household income is down $4300 since Obama took office.

2) The percentage of unemployed workers who've been out of a job for more than a year is over 30%.

3) The country has had the longest streak of +8% unemployment since the Depression under Obama: 39 months and counting.

4) In 2011 under Barack Obama, nearly one out of every seven Americans was on food stamps. That's a 70 percent increase from 2007.

5) Fifty percent of new college graduates are underemployed or unemployed.

6) U.S. home ownership is at a decade long low. So is the number of Americans who say their home is worth more than they paid for it. Home prices are the lowest they've been since 2002.

7) Barack Obama ended NASA's manned space program.

8) Going into this election cycle, Barack Obama had raised more money from Wall Street than any President in history. He has also raised more money from Wall Street than all of the GOP presidential contenders combined in this election cycle.

9) Under Barack Obama's leadership, the last time Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats passed a budget was April 9, 2009.

10) Barack Obama's budget was defeated 414-0 in the House and 99-0 in the Senate.

11) When he was running for President in 2008, Barack Obama pledged not to raise taxes on families making less than 250,000 dollars per year. He broke that promise with the tanning salon tax and with Obamacare, which raises almost 500 billion dollars in new taxes, a significant portion of which would be paid by people making less than 250,000 dollars per year.

12) When Barack Obama took office, gas was $1.95 per gallon. Today gas is $3.72 per gallon.

13) In February of this year, the federal government had a 229 billion dollar deficit. That was the largest deficit in the history of the United States.

14) America lost its AAA credit rating (which it had held since 1917) on Obama's watch despite the fact that Timothy Geithner publicly said there was "no risk" of that happening.

15) Barack Obama added more to the debt in just 38 months than George Bush did in two full terms as President."

Obama versus Romney--too close to call

Why is this race for the Presidency so close?

What can possibly cause about half of our population to remain fixated on Obama, his lies, and his progressive/socialist policies? Considering all of the negative information about Obama and his presidency that is readily available, it seems to be some sort of weird miracle that there are still so many people in his camp. It is as though people like him and they are willing to ignore his personal failings, his administration’s failings, and his terrible policies for the nation, which is a tragic form of madness!

In a hundred years I would never have imagined that so many of us are progressives/socialists/communists and not staunch middle-of-the-road conservatives. So I began to search for a few reasons for this truly odd behavior.

Reason number 1: The demonization factor. Radical progressives have demonized so many good rightist leaders and politicians that the average citizen has been swayed away from his normal beliefs.

Reason number 2: Buying votes. By sending money continuously to many of our citizens in need, or by promising new and better benefits, through all of the entitlement programs and policies he has either fostered or biased, the latest being Obamacare, Obama and his party have outright bought the votes of many citizens.

Reason number 3: Lying about taxes. By disguising the Obamacare tax situation, he has gotten away with a large tax increase, which allows him to disperse even more largess to his constituents.

Reason number 4: The Biased Media. Not only does Obama have the Bully Pulpit of the office of President, he has by far the majority of the media in his camp, so that he is blessed with a favorable press regardless of the actual situation. Most newspaper pressrooms and TV news programs are 9 to 1 left- leaning.

Reason number 5: Deviousness. Liberals, progressives, socialists, and communists are the most devious, lying people in existence, and use their smarts to further the leftist cause very loudly by nasty means. Their leftist cause is defined for them by a few so-called elites that actually do not have the interests of Americans or the nation first in their minds: their focus is on gaining power for themselves and their supporters to rule and prosper. They are constantly tearing down their center and right adversaries with fabricated or blown up accusations that end up being dead wrong, but the damage has been done in poorly attentive minds before the retractions slyly and quietly surface.

Reason number 6: The convinced minorities. Three major groups of people believe that the Obama administration and the Democratic Party have their interests at heart more than do Republicans. These are the Blacks, the Hispanics and the Muslims, that, taken as a block, count for quite a percentage of our citizenry.

Reason number 7: Ignorance. Unfortunately, many of our citizens are not well informed about Obama and his leftists and where they are taking the nation, and in their ignorance they accept the propaganda of the Democratic Party as the true stuff. Some are reflexive voters that follow the party every year out of pure habit, not realizing that the party of today is not their party of yesterday. I also suggest that many of our citizens do not know very much about their own government, how it operates, and whether those in government power are following the Constitution or not in their lawmaking. Worse, they don’t even care, it seems.

Reason number 8: The Conservative Alternative. It seems that we conservatives have not articulated the conservative message effectively to the majority of citizens in a timely and straightforward manner. We appear to use sound bites that are not readily contrasted with the leftist message, and we appear to refuse to lay our message out in detail, perhaps fearing that it gives too much ammunition to the enemy on the left.

Reason number 9: Leftist Drift of the Congress. A startling fact has emerged recently regarding the membership of the Socialist Party of America. Fully 70 of our congressional representatives are now, or were recently, members of this socialist organization according to this party’s October 2009 news letter. Our congress has been infiltrated by socialists, as has our presidency. These representatives are carrying the leftist message, and the anti-conservative message, however disguised, to their constituents throughout the nation, and thus further influencing voters leftwards. Conversely, that these men were elected to office means that they appealed to their constituents.  Fully 33% of Americans now look upon socialism favorably, again according to this party’s October 2009 newsletter, which illustrates the success of these, “our” representatives, in influencing us towards socialism.

Election Predictions

It is a long time from now to November!

Here we are in April, and the usual suspects are placing their bets on the outcome of the election in November. It’s a fun game, but there are so very many disturbing events possible between now and seven months from now, that there is little to gain in making a prediction, except of course, the “inevitability tactic” of touting your selection over and over in hope of influencing the outcome. Impovrished thinkers long to back a winner. So declare one for them!

The economy and job growth can well stagnate over the Summer and into the Fall, after the pent up customer demand of the last years is exhausted. Oil prices may well become intolerable to swallow, etc. and the real job loss of 11% to 18% can turn against the imcumbent. Even now, some see through the highly touted figure of 8.2% to the reality.

The chorus of accusations against Obama will become much louder; his narcissicism; lies; bending the Constitution out of shape; etc. coming to a boil. Watch for more and more books accusing Obama of leading the nation into chaos and backing the accusations up with long lists of facts. Conservatives will pay attention, while progressives will try to drown out the chorus of facts with sly and subverting stories.

The Middle East can easily explode into yet another conflict, with Israel making a decision to attack Iran; Syria becoming even worse; and the public reacting unfavorably to the administration’s support for Palestine at the expense of Israel. There are many opportunities here in the foreign field for Obama to stub his toe badly and thereby forfit his reelection.

The administration’s stealth executive order approach to allowing illegal immigrants to remain in country by fiat does not sit well with many citizens, and that will be publicized heavily.

Then, too, Obama himself can hinder his own bid for reelection by words and actions that alienate many voters, not unlike his description of the right, which was contemptuously to the effect that they clutch the Bible in one hand and a rifle in the other. Or, his message to Putin that he would have “more flexibility” after he is reelected. Indeed! One hopes he finds himself out of a job.

Obama's Performance

The Public Is Waking Up to the Problems, I Hope! (Edited anew 3/20/12)

Perhaps the public is becoming aware of the specter of war with Iran and her minions real soon now, coupled with the rather two-faced approach of this administration on the plight of Israel. With the national debt topping $15.5T (which bests Bush's spending in 8 years in only 3+ for Obama!), the deficit going to $1.2T+ this year; no budget for 3 years; possible war in the offing with a big price tag if it happens; joblessness at a real 18% not really making big strides at all; a coming tax increase as Bush cuts are ended; and Obamacare coming ever further on line; the impact of Obamacare not well understood and rejected by the people; housing in the doldrums; and financing (possible QE3 again) not perking up; for lack of drilling, $4+ gas prices heading up further with a hard financial impact on people everywhere; the administration touting really hefty cuts to the military and the defense industry just to make things interesting for the job market; and our esteemed Attorney General losing weapons and lying; it is very easy to see how a goodly percentage of the public would be leery of Obama and his czars at this juncture, for the highly negative results both for domestic and foreign reasons. All these issues without going into the seriously flawed progressive ideology and accompanying leftist personnel being installed throughout government's 1,177+ Agencies, and growing!

One expects that by November a rosy picture will have been painted for us to see on all of this. So, watch out for January! Whoever wins will have a terrible mess to cope with, including all of the so-called the roses.

Jobs!

We cannot solve the jobs situation in isolation

If you seem to think that spending, deficits, debt, taxes, regulation overload, poor environmental decisions, outsourcing jobs, and entitlements, especially health, are unrelated to the job situation, you are wrong. They most definitely are related.

It is folly to try to fix one of those in grand and glorious isolation to the others. This current administration gets a fail grade in long-term Macro-Economics 101, and in letting small businesses grow, instead of over-regulating them and creating uncertainty by overspending on new legislation with long-term spending commitments, and refusing to authorize job-producing private sector programs that would increase employment. That is where the jobs are (or were)–small businesses. Playing the richman-poorman card is shortsighted political gamesmanship that is laughable!

Furthermore, the recent pogo stick policies of an all democratic congress and presidency of propping up the economy artificially is unsustainable, as we will see in a year or two. We are almost “all in” as it were, and what happens when we cannot print more money? We default, and no one lends us money, stifling businesses and hence jobs. What happens if the US Dollar is dethroned from its current posture? We could not print money and use it then. What happens if we do print lots more? Heavy Inflation, which is on the way now. Then what happens to jobs? They go west.

The problem is that virtually no politician wants to see our real situation for what it is, and then take the steps needed to fix it across the board, least of all Obama! Just about every step he takes, or wants to take, worsens the problem, except for his truly token efforts to move right on some issues.

It is Obama Bashing Time Again

Obama's mean distance from the White House is about 500 miles.

He luxuriates on AF-1 more than any previous president.

The cost to the taxpayer for his travels is enormous because of the huge logistics cost of three or four support planes, extra security and communications, among the more expensive items.

It seems that he needs dozens and dozens of leftwing czars to run the government on top of his cabinet, all of whom have signed up to his Hope and Change plans.

His principal proposals for new legislation have the characteristic of increasing the national debt by trillions, without any rational means to pay for them except to hit the taxpayers again and again, in an orgy of spend and tax and tax and spend.

He wants to redistribute your wealth to those who make less, so that we reach a levelling of incomes across the board, regardless of the state of employability and reliability of the more unfortunate.

Obama is the SEIU union's best advocate and supporter, and he is well-compensated for his support.

He hates Israel and Israelis, and would probably let Israel go down the tubes to a Muslim attack.

Just a few of my pet peaves about Obama gotten off my chest!

Obama's Sins Emerging Clearly

Obfuscation Tactics

Let me see, how many obfuscation tactics are available to deflect the import of documented sins if one is totally ruthless? Here is a short and incomplete list that can appear at any stage in any order! These tactics hold for office holders and for defenders of the faith! Some have already appeared!

1. Shoot the messenger! First thing they do; check!

2. Shoot the author! Second thing!; check!

3. Call the collected data a “hit piece” by biased people!; check!

4. Call the evidence to be somehow tainted!; TBD

5. Pick one accusation and find a supposed flaw, which is then used to try to discredit the entire set; TBD

6. Assure the silence of key potential witnesses; UNKN

7. Stonewall each accusation, and hide the data; UNKN

8. Blanket denials, lies and destroy the evidence (illegal in itself!); UNKN

9. Use executive privelege to deny access to data; check

10. Simply deny access and ignore court orders, etc; check

11. Bush did it; check

12. Bush did it too!; check

13. Other excuses; TBD

13. Clinton did it; check
14. X group or X individual did it, not me; check

15. Mount a counter argument that deflects the thrust; check

16. Assume the authority and challenge questioners; check

17. Publish counter reports from a biased perspective; check

18. Tie up the arguments in definitional problems and legal snares; check

19. Tie up the arguments in alternate interpretations of laws; check

Instances of most of these tactics are documented in Limbaugh’s book: “Crimes Against Liberty.”

Government in Stasis

Unblocking the Economy

There is no reason why, in a society which has reached the general level of wealth ours has, the first kind of security (that is: the certainty of a given minimum of sustenance for all...) should not be guaranteed to all without endangering general freedom; that is, some minimum of food, shelter and clothing, sufficient to preserve health. Nor is there any reason why the state should not help to organize a comprehensive system of social insurance in providing for those common hazards of life against which few can make adequate provision." The Road to Surfdom": F. A. Hayek

Thus we have Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, ObamaCare, and other welfare and job loss provisions for all. What is being debated is how to continue to pay for it all in the face of overwhelming national debt and its interest payments over the next 20 years, give or take, and while maintaining our military capability at "sufficient" levels, and, oh by the way, spurring the economy to life and making a lot more jobs. All in the right Hayekian direction, theoretically, but needing really serious tuning and pruning for affordability, safeguarding of free market principles and prevention of fraud and abuse. Politically, however...

The Democrats seem to want to minimize cuts in their programs and our entitlements, and to gain more revenue to pay the Piper and to add to their social programs. The Republicans seem adamantly to want to cut spending and avoid higher taxes in the first instance. There is a stymied position because of a complete lack of trust in the Obama administration by Republicans, who seem to be gun shy of mere verbal promises to cut spending while having to accept tax increases up front, as has happened in the past by, let us say, "slight of hand in Congress;" cuts which would diminish the power of the Democrats, plus many serious concerns about the low morality of this administration. The Democrats likewise suspect the Republicans of wanting to decimate their already legislated social structures, especially ObamaCare, do want to hold or increase their monetary and political power, accuse the Republicans of bad faith, etc. and hence do not trust the Republicans. The verbal offer of Obama of a 5 for 1 split was rejected, I suppose, for all of the above distrust reasons, plus nothing in writing. One key to the impasse is the fact of Republican control of the House, where all money bills must begin.

Yet, most of us citizens go along with Hayek, I believe, not full bore, perhaps, but to an acceptable degree of expenditures, and we want action on all the key elements to begin sharply.

This is a titanic struggle for power and control of the nation, and I am pessimistic that we can get on the right track without ceding power to one or the other parties for control of the Senate and the Presidency via the next election, and with a providential, lucky selection of key players in the government.

We need some genius to write a bill that is acceptable to both parties and the public.  My only thought is that the parties should come to a written agreement as to the principles of the way ahead, get public acceptance of it, and then write legislation that faithfully adheres to the agreement, pass it in both houses, and have the President sign it.

I hope that is what the supercommittee does!

Our Spendthrift Administration

Those who want to put the blame on President Bush for our fiscal woes should heed the following facts:

Including all expenditures:

Clinton spent................................$564 Million per day over 8 years

Bush spent ..................................$1.2 Billion per day over 8 years

Obama spent................................$4.6 Billion per day over 2.5 years, so far!

This current expenditure rate is not sustainable.  Source: GAO

UBL RIP

The man is finally dead. He should have been not long after 9/11. I give little credit to Obama, except that he didn't stop the plan. This event should not have anything at all to do with the election, except to wonder why it took so long under Obama and Bush to find the man and kill him.  Then too, why are many other high level terrorists still alive?

What an ironic tragedy if the death of ben Laden actually helped Obama to win a second term, so we can double the deficit again.
I cannot resist crowing that I told you so way before the 2008 election that Obama was poison to the nation.

A further thought on Obama: here is a man that exhibits a dangerous moral ambivilance; he organizes and avidly tries to watch in real time the assasination of ben Laden by a bullet in the face, yet he loathes the waterboarding and other extrodinary interrogation methods used to help find UBL in the first place, even though waterboarding leaves the victim essentially undamaged. A bullet in the face represents the ultimate damage one can do to a human being.

Is this Administration Really Evil?

Evil is as Evil Does!

Pursuing a radically different leftwing political philosophy, and a collective, socialistic course of action after it has been proven to be manifestly, demonstratively and massively damaging to this nation, or to any nation for that matter, is pure evil.

This cannot be excused by claiming ignorance, since there are so many brilliant, detailed and well–documented examples of the failures of leftist collectivism available in the nearest library and on the internet, plus many, many intelligent people available to advise the President on every subject imaginable—especially the failure of collectivism!

The one possible explanation that might be offered for this national catastrophe is that the Leader has such an overweening ego and narcissistic mindset that he cannot possibly admit failure in the least; hence, he must pursue his dreams and programs to the end, come what may. He therefore does not wish to listen to the advice of knowledgeable people or spend the considerable effort needed to grasp the true fundamentals of economics that he must master from the resources in the country. The Leader cannot change course!

If this is true, then the evil we see has not one but two parts: 1) the evil disaster of the nation’s finances brought on by reckless spending and commitments to la la land programs by this Administration, with its attendant joblessness and misery of 20% unemployment in real terms; and, 2)the evil, narcissistic ego of a flawed and ignorant President, and his muted advisors, czars and legislators that are forced to or are delighted to continue the same philosophy and courses of action in the midst of the screams of the unemployed, the wreckage of the commercial sector, and despite the dire warnings that have been given for over two to ten years from responsible and knowledgeable economists, financiers and businessmen. (The last Administration failed to heed their advice; our last chance was for this Administration to heal the nation’s sicknesses, but it has also failed.)

That is true evil!

Where Was Obama Born?

Cool it with the birther argument!

Whether any evidence to the contrary exists of Obama’s birthplace in Hawaii or not, we have an elected President that will serve out his term or terms. There is no reset or undo button we can press, much as it would be desirable to stop the plus changes to our debt levels immediately. All energies and focus should be directed to his and his party’s defeat in 2012, and not wasted on such unwinnable arguments. We need all of these progressives out of power!

If it is in fact a conspiracy, it is well-covered and virtually impossible to unravel, except by time and accident and human frailty—or devine intervention!

If it is not a conspiracy, which is heavily odds-on, then no amount of scrounging around or wailing at the wall right now, here or elsewhere, will result in anything but redicule, especially from the faithful!

So play the odds, and work on 2012 and all of the substantive issues in between now and then!

Beck's Rally Rocks!

Two Comments on the Day

1. Crowd size estimates are politicized for the simple reason that they may foretell the political fate of the radicals in office. Since it has been speculated that for every citizen that shows up at a rally about 100 are wishing they could, Rally Size x 100 = Disaster for the Incumbents. A big cheer for that, even though the ostensible goal of the Beck rally was not political! I would put the size of the DC rally at about 300,000, which I hope represents 30 million voters against Obama!
2. For many years we had a proper, more livable balance of religion and secularism in the nation, but since more atheists and agnostics have found their voice and their organizations, such as the ACLU and The Humanist Society, the secularists have been on the rise. (It just may be that a few of them are posting here now!) Their main result so far seems to be to have created great disharmony where there had been little or none, to attack Christians wherever found, to advocate legislation that is counter to or subversive of the Constitution, to invent a community organizer and wishwashy, socialistic politico as worthy of the Presidency, to elect to Congress the likes of Pelosi and Reid, to pass unread legislation that will break the bank, and to run the deficit to the sky! Good job SH’ers! Go look back at #1 above.

Tea Party Movement Rocks!

The People's Revolt for Sanity in Government

It should be obvious by now to the most dense partisan that the current government is in dire straits. The turnouts at various Tea Party Events, including Beck's "Restoring Honor" demonstration last Saturday, show clearly that we the people are on the march for real change far away from what this Obama crowd is delivering.

That the media have been downplaying the size of the crowds is laughable! Anybody could see with their own eyes that hundreds of thousands of men and women of all races, creeds, and colors were participating lustily in these rallies and filling up the Mall. For each one of thes participants, I would conjecture that another 100 wanted to attend, and cheered their closest march event on from afar. The message is that upwards of 100 million voters are totally discontent with the way things are, and are itching to vote in November against Obama and all that he stands for. Many Independents are saying that even Republicans couldn't this bad!

Meanwhile our president is known more for his vacations than for his steering of the ship of state into reefs and sandbars, both situations being to our deficit. Speaking of which, the monitary deficit is increasing under Obama, if only because he allows the idiots in charge of the Congress to manufacture bills no one reads until after they have become law--and he signs them, unread as well.

Steering Us into Chaos

A few thoughts on where the left is taking us.

Some key themes the left seems to be carrying forward are:

1) Castigating conservatives with false accusations in a constant drumbeat of slogans;
2) Castigating Constitutionalists and rightists with the meme that the Constitution is out of date, an idea that I challenge most heartedly;

3) Castigating conservative radio talk show hosts for being...themselves! and,

4) At least implicitly, riding the "man is the measure of all things" meme, or in other words, atheistic Secular Humanism, materialism and moral relativism. But, I suppose they have to believe in "something" in order to understand anything, even if that something is dead wrong.

It is amazing to me that anyone can believe in some form of benign-but-authoritative world government, a major SH and leftist tenet that includes equal and democratic shares of power for immoral or amoral governments, ruling parties and national elites. There is no common cultural, religious, political, social, economic, military or philosophical basis for such a lash up, and it would most certainly ruin the sovereignty of our nation and our way of life. So why entertain this corrosive idea?

This idea, in turn, suggests that one must have a higher allegiance than to our nation---that is, to all of unwashed mankind and their leaderships (and not to God, of course!). This is perhaps the root of the belief in open borders for the US and amnesty for illegal immigrants, which is an impending disaster if Obama has his way.

The last two world government attempts, namely The League of Nations and the United Nations, have been failures in the large--a statement that has been well-illustrated elsewhere. Promoting more of the same is sheer folly! The over 200 governments around the world, their power elites, and a majority of their people are simply too intellectually, economically, culturally, politically and morally primitive or insular, or both, to play their expected altruistic roles in democratic or republican world governance at this juncture. The UN record provides all the proof needed for this assertion. For the backward nations to learn by doing in the UN is also rediculous when so many lives are at stake worldwide.

We do need mechanisms for controlling aggression, world domination movements (think Islam), genocide, piracy, open seas violations, wanton exploitation of resources, theft, and commerce, to name a few international law needs. Most of these needs can and should be accomplished by enforceable and monitored treaties between relevant nations for now. They can be backed up by the military power of the US and allied democratic Western nations, where the notions of democratic governance and justice are culturally and politically dominant. We should not concern ourselves with events in the interior of sovereign nations, or else there is no meaning to sovereignty. If asked to help by a legitimate government, however, that is a different thing, and such requests should be carefully considered.

Where Went Transparency?

Do politicos lie, or just bend the truth?

For a moment, let us return to the idea that some politicos say one thing and do another. Not that they do this in every situation, or for every statement they emit, but they do it often enough to merit extremely close attention to their words versus their actions.

It is clearly, clearly reserved for those times when they read the tea leaves; that is, when they realize that a significant sector of the public wants to insist on one way and the politico wants to go in exactly the opposite direction. Thus, they claim up front that they are going with the public desire, but behind the scenes they are working in the opposite direction.

This tactic was employed by Clinton quite often, and it appears to have been fully embraced by Obama. It is designed very cynically to misdirect and neutralize some part of the public as to the real intentions of the politico and his party at a critical point, such as before an election or a key legislative vote.

The open government theme of transparency is one perfect example of such a meme out of many that is readily embraced by the public, so stated as absolutely necessary over and over by Obama, and almost totally reversed in practice by him and by his party once he was elected.

A video of Democratic legislators and Obama horsetrading away on national TV to buy votes for the Obama Healthcare bill would be instantly devastating to the entire gaggle of politicos shown!
