Amnesty NO!

Many steps too far over, around and against the people!

This purple people eater administration is running our nation into the ground. Amnesty is the latest kick they are on, and with stealth orders to refuse action against illegals, if Congress fails to pass their stupid comprehensive immigration bill, which features amnesty over everything else.
This Hispanic vote-buying gimmick should be roundly condemned by Americans as being totally contrary to the will of the majority of citizens. We seem to be in the grip of a dictator.

Demonstrators Against Obamaism

Rude and unruly maybe, but they are the wrong target.

As a skeptic, I do view with skepticism those that are in the limelight for any reason. As a conservative I try to listen with my inner ear to what the next politician is attempting to sell, in order to classify him as on my side–or not. Obama long ago convinced me that he would be extremely bad for the nation, and that opinion has been reinforced a hundredfold since the election–he is not on my side, and he is, in my opinion, taking the nation down the road to insolvency very rapidly indeed.

This is the line of reasoning and opinion that millions of people have signed up to recently, and more are coming to the same position every day.

Now you get to the question of what to do about it? While fringe groups with this opinion and this fear yell and scream and make vile comparisons, perhaps to try to move the problem along (in their view), the majority of like-minded people are simply gearing up to defeat the Democrats in the next elections, and to attempt to influence their representatives concerning the flood of spending that is going on.

It is not unusual that some choose invective to make their points, especially when they discover that they are not being very effective at staunching their tax money flow into smelly rat holes around the country. So they gather for comfort and to take heart that so many others are in the same position; some go over the line in expressing their discontent as people are wont to do. But then, so has the opposition done the same thing in past years, with similar results and similar invective. Out of 100,000 people there will inevitably be 100 to 500 that are more charged up than the rest, and that are more susceptible to yelling and screaming, and waving flags and signs of all kinds, whether misguided or not. Of course, the opposition seizes upon these high energy demonstrators to attempt to make them representative of the party! This is typical political behavior–and decidedly dishonest as well–but we are stuck with it.

So, instead of taking these energetic people to task, and bemoaning their absolutely terrible influence on the fate of the party, cooler heads should be working very hard to redirect this group energy into far more constructive avenues: towards defeating the Democrats at every turn. Once these people receive good guidance and direction they become an effective political force instead of a gaggle.

I have found no one yet that has taken up this challenge to form the opposition and direct it along winning paths, and an individual leader that has made a real impact.

Nothing to Bear but Bear Itself!

Bearallels!

When you’re tracking a highly dangerous animal-say, a grisley–you first pick up disturbances on the ground or bushes. As you follow the weak signs, they tend to get fresher and more definitive: the outlines of pawprints become clearly forced into the soil, and the broken branches are quite new and dripping sap. Then you may hear grunts and snarls. If you persist, suddenly rising before you to his full 12-foot height stands the grisley bear, and his intentions are now quite clear indeed. You are his next meal. No escaping now: such bears can run at 35 mph, and I do not think you are that fast.

Experienced trackers would have picked up that it was a grisley very quickly, and would have made proper preparations in case of an encounter with this most fearsome animal in the North, including retreating to the truck to get a high caliber rifle and pistol, asking others to accompany them to provide even more firepower, and walking in a skirmish line to give everyone a good shot.

I see your so-called kooks as amateur trackers that have picked up early signs of the bear, but have little idea what they need to do next. The professionals are not on site yet, but the bear is lurking around, for sure, snorting often (too often!), and making his presence known, although at some distance.

These anateurs know well that they could lose their lives to the bear, so they make noise, shout, wave their hands wide and all those things that just might scare the bear off. None of them had the wisdom to carry a good weapon in the midst of grisley country. Of course, they look like bumbling fools and idiots to an observer that is blissfully unaware of the bear signs and sounds that provoked those people.

But, the grisley bear is really there, and will be for the time being…

"Call it the Constitution Revolution!"

Good name!

Chris Burgard on the blog Big Hollywood: "Call it the Constitution Revolution! "  He also reports that the police and others savvy about crowd counts put the number of marchers at 1.6 million.

My own calculations, knowing the length of Pennsylvania Avenue, its width, the average space for one person, and the walking speed one could expect, gives a range of 250,000 to 500,000 people just on the Avenue, and doesn't count the crowds at the Capitol and the Reflecting Pool, nor those observing, but not streaming into the flow. I believe it is reasonable to estimate the crowd at over a  million just from looking at the density of the marchers in the photos.

It is indeed a revolution to return us to constitutional law, and not the feel-good, nanny-state laws that liberals want to institute in the nation.  With Spend, spend, spend will come tax, tax, tax, unless we kick the bums out of office real soon now!

Dissent by Reason not Rabble-Rousing

A few kooks carry Nazi and Hitler signs in the protests.

This complaint over kooks needs a longer perspective and less anguish on the part of conservatives. By legitimizing the kooks through serious commentary and woeful thinking about their influence, it raises the temperature of the argument without changing the kook’s mindset.

Every movement has its fringe people, and they will try to be heard, but there are simpler methods of muting their message, such as ignoring them, or making one-on-one comments to them about the negative influence they project.

Reason will prevail in the end—conservative reason, that is! The simple and accurate messages of dissent, based on facts and reason are the answer, and the kooks will probably be won over to such messages before long because they will come to realize the truth of what is being said by every conservative.

So what we need are those simple, direct, truthful and potent messages. Why not turn the discussion around to exactly that creative problem?

Obama's Two Faces

The man is popular, but his policies aren't.

This situation puzzles me no end. Obama racks up personal kudos at a blistering pace, reaching an approval rating of 57% Yet his administration racks up on the order of 48% approval, and Congress does no better than 35%. He has made all kinds of booboos, and champions a spending rate that will impovrish my great grandchildren. I simply don't see why these things aren't coupled to Obama's personal ratings. Time may take care of it, but as an impatient American, I see the jobless lines growing and the deficit growing every day. To think we will have 3 1/2 more years of this is crushing.

How can it be?

Obama:Loved and Unloved

Where the puzzling poll statements love Obama for himself, but not his policies!

Over and over, I hear this meme: the public adores Obama, but they are learning to hate his policies. So he is portrayed as a very nice man, generous, caring, devoted, and certainly energetic. But he institutes policies that leave the citizens to wonder if they are not reading the media correctly. How can such a nice man overspend the budget by such a large margin, with no plan to pay it back? How can he allow cabinet choices to be approved when they have tax deficits. Just why is he firing Inspector Generals, that are supposed to keep things on the level? Why is he so apologetic about America when he speaks to foreign audiences? In the face of a nearly two trillion dollar deficit, how can he propose a health plan that will defy all projections of cost, and place us in more trillions of dollars in debt? Why is it that he doesn't come out strongly for the Iranian dissidents?

For those, like me, that have lost track of the wild and speedy spending of this year's government, I suggest a look at this site:

http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2009/06/bailout-costs-vs-big-historical-events/

Adoration may have its place for leaders, but when that leader heads the nation further into bankruptcy, shows great weakness to our pledged enemies, actually hates the military, and allows Congress to write and not read their huge pork-filled spending bills under the rubric of "stimulus" that isn't stimulating the economy, and he violates the Constitution by vesting huge power to his "czars" which downgrades his cabinet members, why has he decided to own the lion's share of GM and Chrysler? Is he heading us towards socialism?...and on, and on...

I cannot see how anyone can continue to admire him. He says one thing and does the opposite so often that it is hard to nail down just what he believes. It will take two full terms for a Conservative President and Congress to reset us on the right path. I hope that will start in 2012.

I am Frightened--Socialism is on the March

Obama Leads Us toward Socialism

A very few days of Obama's Presidency, and we are beginning to see the man for what he is, and what he stands for: socialism, with a twist.

We have effectively one-party rule now, and it seems that no one can stop it from transforming the nation into a socialist nightmare--American style.

The so-called stimulus bill is a case in point. The bill was railroaded through Congress, not allowing time for its thousand pages to be read by any Legislator at all. We do not know what is in that bill, not fully, and I predict that it will contain provisions that Americans will chafe under, and rebel against. What we thought would be a reduced bill of about 790 billion dollars, seems to have exploded to 1.2 trillion dollars, as the markups turned out to be add-ons.

Clarification: The current bill authorizes 787 billion dollars, of which much is devoted to construction on highways, railroads, bridges, federal buildings, military building and the like. My point was that these expenses and others, will very likely overrun their planned budgets by at least 100% in the coming years, adding about 400 billion dollars to the total. One can examine the many building projects of the government during the past 20 years, where a 100% overrun is considered a success!

More then any other President, Obama is ruling by Executive Decree. He has already negated most of the orders of the Bush era by fiat, and without any transparency whatsoever. He has gone back on his campaign promises to conduct the business of the government in an open and transparent manner.

However, he has not reined in the presiding Nuts in Congress--Pelosi and Reid, or their corps of dishonest politicians. He didn't have real input into the stimulus bill! Instead, he allowed the Nuts to write it, and the Nuts turned the task over to their staffs. So it is the wild and woolly staffs that know in detail what is in the bill, not their fearless leader Moonbats.

Obama is angling to capture the Census Bureau, and put it directly under his thumb. Why is this important? The Census is the way we decide how many legislators we will have from each district. If you subvert the Bureau into a political pawn of the Democratic Party, guess who profits from this? Do you believe that the Democratic Administration will refrain from cooking the books to ensure more Democrats get into Congress? We will be faced with a Thousand Year Democratic Reich, if we can avoid the concentration camps.

Obama entered into correspondence with the Iranian Government before he was elected, telling them how he would be easier on them, so let's play nice. This is not how candidates should act behind the back of a sitting President.

His minions are about to introduce bills that disarm the citizenry, which is arguably the first step to ensure no uprising of an armed populace against his tyranny. All you have to do is watch each step to see where it is all heading: a socialist takeover of the government and industry.

Up front, he sounds good. He sounds like someone that cares for this nation. But his behind-the-scenes actions belie this. He has made a cock up of his appointments to senior staff, and his policies were just too much for Gregg.

Virtually all of the pre-election faults we found with Obama are coming true in spades. He is a little man with wrong ideas for the nation. He duped much of the nation into electing him with high-sounding rhetoric, but with little substance. Hope and Change indeed! For him. Fear and Resentment for us all. And, watch as the Constitution is altered beyond recognition.

The mid-term elections in 2010 are probably our last and best hope to derail this socialist train before it is too late.

We Want Sane Government
We Want Honest and Open Government
We Want Efficient and Cost-Effective Government
We Want Responsible, Strong on Defense Government
We Want Our Sovereign Borders to Remain Sovereign
We Want Conservative, Constitutional Government

We are not getting it now. The Moonbats are in control. You don't get out of debt by going into greater debt, which is the path we are on: the path of bankruptcy.

May God help us from our growing national misery!

Obama the Socialist

See this!

Besides being found out to be a true member of The New Party, Mr. Obama has consistently voiced a socialist platform, although it is disguised sufficiently that the uninitiated would not pick up on it. Taken with his abominable associations with Wright, Ayers, and others, there is enough smoke to be sure that a fire is in there somewhere. How so many Americans can fall for this socialist/marxist I do not know. The Left is very close to winning now. I hope we can correct course before we are enslaved in a neosocialist government, and trapped in Constitutional revisions by fiat from the Supreme Court. We may have to start a Thatcher type revolution to escape their clutches.

Watch for further reregulation and government takeovers of major segments of the economy. These nutcakes will destroy America given enough time in office.

Obama Slip

Obama: "Let's not play games. I was suggesting - you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith."

Was this a gaffe or a slip of the tongue? A most important question.

Obama American?

Is Obama an American or Not?

There is smoke all over the place that Mr. Barak Hussein Obama does not have a valid birth certificate attesting to his birth in the United States—specifically Hawaii. If this is so, he cannot be elected to the Presidency by law. The FBI should be directed to investigate this situation and report back to the court system whether Obama is truly eligible to run for that office. There should be absolutely no hesitation on the part of the Department of Justice or the Administration in pursuing this matter to the end.

We all should demand such an investigation in order to put the matter to rest once and for all well before the November election. There should be no Clinton surprises to uproot the election process—best that any bad news for Obama and his maniacs comes from the DOJ officially.

Obamania

Unfit for Office

We have a few choices left in this election year. We can follow and cheer for Obama. We can follow and cheer for McCain. Or, we can take every opportunity to show how either of these gentlemen are not fit for the office of President. Or even do a little of both in some combination.

As I see it, there is no need for me to follow either of them, and no pressing need to join in the usual denigration efforts, since others can do that job far better than I. I long ago decided that my vote is against Obama and for a Republican—even a weak one such as McCain. All the rest of this yammering daily about Obama this and Obama that isn't going to influence my vote, and all of the gaffes that McCain makes, or all of the good things he says, are not going to affect my party-line vote.

Since we have a two-party system, and since as a conservative I feel at home with Republicans far, far more than I ever could with Democrats, the issue is decided without further wringing of hands.

In fact, I was puzzling about the Independent vote. Do so many citizens have so little common sense that they cannot understand the two-party system? Do they believe that they can gain something by holding back their vote and approval? Are they really unable to decide between Republicans and Democrats? Is their thinking a sort of “pox on both their houses?” Just what makes them tick?

I could ask the same about those that vote for some obscure third party, and for those who don't vote at all. Staying home on voting day is the most devastating of all, since it denies and devalues the fundamental act of citizenship—voting.

In just the opposite vein, I was puzzling about the Democratic voters. Are they really influenced by the offers of handouts from government? Do they believe that it is right and proper to vote for the best package of perks on offer? What in the world influences a citizen to buy into the meme of “change”, especially when the changes are not specified at all, or are respecified up or down every day?

Disgusted and puzzled.
