Electing an Unknown
Election Eve is Nigh
The street says it is Obama and Biden that our citizens will elect. Thinking about this ugly possibility leads me to all kinds of speculation and a few facts.
First of all, the election is against George Bush, Iraq, the Economy, and Amnesty for illegal immigrants. Never mind that McCain is a certified RINO, he is tarred with Bush votes, and he has the Amnesty sickness as well.
Secondly, the Republican Party, by some weird quirk, went wild with spending, and they are now being held accountable by the voters. That McCain tried to maintain a fiscal conservative stance is of little consequence to the voters. They trust him more than Obama with money matters, but, not I suppose, the Party behind him—those spendthrift Republicans of the last years.
McCain is not charismatic, that is certain, whereas his opponent is obviously the epitome of the charismatic politician. Obama has several themes that appear to be contrary and confusing, but apparently acceptable to a large group of voters: he wants to raise taxes and is dishonest about it. We will all feel the pinch.
Obama wants to buy votes by "sharing the wealth", which means he wants to take my income and slice off a big chunk to forcibly share it with his selected “Others”. I have no choice in the matter, so it amounts to the federal government robbing me of that chunk. Further, he wants to increase spending by some atrocious amount like 800 billion dollars over the next ten years for what amounts to welfare.
The handwriting is on the wall that the Dems want to convert our society to Socialism. They want to control the means of production, the distribution of the income from these means, and the projects that are funded by these means, supposedly for our benefit, if not our own choosing. They have a smooth champion in Obama, who is a slick-talking snake-oil salesman for the communistic crowd.
We will see all manner of freebies being proposed in the Congress, such as free medical care, free college, super low interest loans for first-time house buyers, and a move to eliminate taxes for a total of 60% of our citizens. That same 60% may also receive free food stamps and free gasoline to go with their subsidized automobiles.
The Constitution will be ignored because it is in the way, so any provisions you have learned to rely upon must be forgotten.
Now is the time to begin to organize to take America back from these hypocritical heathens.

Winning is the Right Path
Where the Conservative Cause has Traitors
It is incredible to me that a number of right-wing pundits are turning towards Obama. After giving their liturgy against McCain, they come up with this asinine rationale: Oh, the Right has to learn the lesson of a left wing government! Since we don't like McCain, let us vote for Obama and accept a leftist President and Congress! We don't need an eight year lesson of that kind, what with three Supremes to be replaced, Medicare to be repaired, the GWOT to be pursued, and the economy to be turned around. With the left in control, they will ensure a far longer term for their people in office, more like 30 or 40 years, if not longer.
How very stupid to go along with that, ostensibly to teach conservatives a lesson. By what mechanism will the lesson be drilled into conservatives who are just now in their teens? When they grow up, just how will they unseat the left? Far better to fight tooth and nail to win--now!

Obamania
Unfit for Office
We have a few choices left in this election year. We can follow and cheer for Obama. We can follow and cheer for McCain. Or, we can take every opportunity to show how either of these gentlemen are not fit for the office of President. Or even do a little of both in some combination.
As I see it, there is no need for me to follow either of them, and no pressing need to join in the usual denigration efforts, since others can do that job far better than I. I long ago decided that my vote is against Obama and for a Republican—even a weak one such as McCain. All the rest of this yammering daily about Obama this and Obama that isn't going to influence my vote, and all of the gaffes that McCain makes, or all of the good things he says, are not going to affect my party-line vote.
Since we have a two-party system, and since as a conservative I feel at home with Republicans far, far more than I ever could with Democrats, the issue is decided without further wringing of hands.
In fact, I was puzzling about the Independent vote. Do so many citizens have so little common sense that they cannot understand the two-party system? Do they believe that they can gain something by holding back their vote and approval? Are they really unable to decide between Republicans and Democrats? Is their thinking a sort of “pox on both their houses?” Just what makes them tick?
I could ask the same about those that vote for some obscure third party, and for those who don't vote at all. Staying home on voting day is the most devastating of all, since it denies and devalues the fundamental act of citizenship—voting.
In just the opposite vein, I was puzzling about the Democratic voters. Are they really influenced by the offers of handouts from government? Do they believe that it is right and proper to vote for the best package of perks on offer? What in the world influences a citizen to buy into the meme of “change”, especially when the changes are not specified at all, or are respecified up or down every day?
Disgusted and puzzled.

Attack on Iran
The time is short, and the Israelis are warming up.
Few believe the US intelligence report claiming that the Iranians have stopped their bomb preparations. This is especially true of the Israelis, who are in the direct line of attack by Iran. Their exercise last week underlines their capability to launch an an attack on the Iranian nuclear facilities on which they have good information. This may not be entirely successful because of the dispersion and secrecy of Iran's installations.
Last year, I was convinced that we would launch an attack this Spring, or at least well before the November elections. Obviously a wrong opinion. I was equally convinced that Israel would attack first, which would force us to join them sooner or later, especially after Iranian counterattacks. This may well be borne out to be so in the not too distant future.
Is it possible that the Israelis are holding off until our election is over, so that they know early in November who will be in the White House after January 20th of 2009? An attack now would possibly throw the election in a uncertain direction, to the disadvantage of the Israelis. They would be in far better shape with McCain in the White House, I believe, and I also believe that the Israelis have a much clearer idea of how much time they have before they are compelled to attack than we do.
Thus, I believe that an Obama win would delay the Israeli attack until they could find out what support they would get from Obama. Any whiffle from Obama would precipitate the attack anyway, since the Isrealis only have their nation to lose if Iraq gets nuclear bombs. The Israelis would then be counting on Iran to attack US targets in retaliation, thus dragging us into the conflict anyway.
What we will have if Obama is elected is not only a total passivistic, neophyte President in war and foreign relations, but we also will have lost the coordination and preparation time with Israel for this new phase of the ME war. This could expose both us and the Israelis to serious losses from Iranian attacks before we contained the threat, or knocked Iran out of the running.
Do we always have to play catch up?

The Obama Joke is Confounding!
The latest news from the election has Obama ahead of McCain by 50% to 44%. Are there really that many Snodgrasses in the nation? It is hard to comprehend the lack of simple common sense this demonstrates. It surely confounds the idea that the electorate is wise and correct, if these polls are proper and well-constructed.
