Iran and Nuclear Weapons
This reversal of opinion by the intelligence community to the effect that Iran stopped their weapons program (high confidence) in 2003, and it MAY still be stopped (medium confidence), is suspect on the face of it. We cannot know the real sources of the information that convinced the community of this stoppage. I would suggest, however, it is simply too pat for this to be announced now. Bush took the right stance: no change in the pressure on Iran to open up its program to inspection fully, stop any nuclear weapons programs, and for us to be prepared to go further.
