Hillary Clinton

Why not to vote for her.

In plain terms, Clinton has lied to the public more than once, the latest being the declaration "I never sent or received any classified emails". There are at least three reasons that this is a lie:

1) she had two of 40 emails on her server that should have been TS-SCI, and whether marked that way or not she had to know their true classification, and she had no authority to declassify them, which not only makes her a liar, but;

2) she also endangered US security sources and methods by having these emails on her private server;

3) She had about 300 emails on her unclassified server that should have been classified Secret or higher that are automatically classified at their origin in foreign governments, which she also had no authority to declassify, and these diplomatic emails are always held secret in the State Department.

We cannot tolerate someone in the office of president that holds our security and the public in such contempt

Election Opinions as of the end of summer

First the Democrats: If there is no cover up sparked by Obama, Hillary Clinton will not be the candidate. I believe she will come very close to being indicted for her classified file sins. I have no idea who they would run in as a sub from the bleachers. The rest of the Dem field is far to left.

Now the Republicans: I am amazed at the progress Trump has made, but I do believe he will fade over a few months. The public is enamored of his blunt speech, but I am not confident he has much behind them. It is easy to insist that "I have a plan" for every key issue, but does he really? I am finding it difficult to choose from the rest of the 16 candidates, but I have always liked Huckabee as a straight-shooter. I suppose any of them would do a creditable job as president, and if Clinton doesn't run, any one of them could be elected fairly easily.

Therein lies my problem. If Clinton somehow survives her email debacle, someone of the Republican pack needs to stand out mightily above her. The only one that is dominating right now is Trump.  The rest are not making a real splash. If he fades as expected, who is ready to take up the fight in a dominating manner? I am still is a quandary about this.

The Dem Syndrome

Dime a Dozen

 I have had each of these obviously ignorant statements told to me in all seriousness by prospective voters. Some of these people were well educated and well off, too, which boggles my mind.

 1. My father and his father were Dems, so I am too.

2. All of my friends and coworkers are Dems, so I am too.

3. My union tells us to vote Dem, so I vote Dem.

4. Dems favor the poor and the middle class, so I vote Dem.

5. Dems to a man condemn the Repub party for all the sins of our society, so I vote Dem.

6. I didn't like G.W. Bush, so I will vote Dem.

7. I didn't like Regan either, so I will vote Dem.

8. I did like Bill Clinton, so I will vote for Hillary.

9. Even though I hate Obamacare, I will vote Dem.

10. Even though I believe we should fight ISIS on the ground also, I will vote Dem.

11. Even though the Dems are tax and spenders and our national debt is over 18.5 trillion dollars, I will vote for Dems.

12. We have a Repub governor that I do not like, so I will vote Dem.
